SCHOOL HISTORY

SCHOOL BACKGROUND The school was founded in the year 1999 by Mrs Modiba Makhudu Rosina. She has started her teaching career in 1971, progressing from a teacher to Head of Department at Naphuno College of Education. She is armed with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education. Matseutseu-Maropeng Combined school is registered with the Department of Education in Limpopo Province and also registered as a Non Profit Organisation. The school currently serves over 413 learners. The school is situated in Lenyenye Township where the rate of unemployment and poverty is very high. Its main obiective is to cater for the education of children from Grade R to Grade 12.The school is developing children in the under developed township of Lenyenye and its neighbouring villages of Mopani District in Limpopo Province. It has won numerous awards for its academic and sports excellence.

VISION

Since its intake, the school has introduced agricultural science as one of the subjects Our vision is to equip young girls and boys with the necessary skills which will enable them to be employed or alternatively afford them opportunities to become job creators and successful entrepreneurs.

Our Objective

The main objective of the existence of the NO was to educate our youth through an independent education system on a non-profit making entity. To produce quality leaners. To maintain a high standard of education To excel in all sporting activities It should become an effective facilitation centre and sustainable organisation providing support services in the vision to have improved unique infrastructure. To keep a view on the constant improvement of the results of the school. To keep the school growing and creating job opportunities for the local communities as well as contributing to the development of the local economy.

To develop skill training for dropout learners who could not proceed to tertiary. The purpose remains to educate our community through an independent registered entity. It is further aimed at eradicating poverty within our townships and rural areas, through job creation and implementation of education related activities. To initiate the learners into the cultural values of our society through cultural activities such as sketches, traditional and choral music, drama poetry etc. To equip our learners with skills including among others vegetable production for food security purposes. Furthermore due to the Covid- 19 pandemic and national skills authority 2021 conference resolution resolved all learning programmes must be done on a digital platform Furthermore, the conference encouraged all training entities and employers to integrate their training program to include basic computer literacy for all levels especially the vulnerable and elementary worker groups.
